This gps has a positioning error within 1m. This is perfect for outdoor use and the m or ft can be converted to eachother so you see the measurements your use to using. It measures the height of the sea level or the climbing height and it allows you to check the historical height record trend chart and curve chart for the past 7 days and 24 hours and it automatically records and stores every 30 minutes.

If you're looking for a pocket sized scientific instrument...This probably isn't for you. It's more of something to give you an idea of what is happening when you're outside. In order for it to benefit you most you should calibrate the compass and altimeter or barometer when you get to your spot/start your hike. If you travel far or cover ground quickly it will affect accuracy, and you'll need to recalibrate.

When you're out in the field, calibrate the device by entering the altitude of your location. Chances are you wouldn't be able to reckon your barometric pressure, but figuring out your altutude can be pretty easy with a topo map or real GPS.

Do not purchase this as your primary compass, GPS, or anything you need to rely on. It is capable of providing you a little insight into the weather, your altitude, and the possibility of weather changes.

3. It was so difficult to understand, the instructions were so unclear and it was impossible to simply get any information I wanted out of the darn thing.

I really want to like this product as it fills a variety of niches at a very affordable price point.

The power plug has proven somewhat of an issue in my unit. It doesn’t want to solidly fit my power adapters but it does work, after a fashion.
Overall, I would not hesitate to buy again!

I charged this for a few hours, until it showed a half battery charge on its indicator. At that point the led flashlight did not work at all. I ran through a number of the functions, some seemed to work okay, it was hard to tell at the time. A few minutes later the screen went blank. I had been trying to test out the function for only ten minutes on half a battery charge.

I suspect that many of the functions did not work, if the first few did not. Given the number of negative reviews, I decided to return it immediately. This is not a GPS as advertised, for what I could tell. There was no indication of linking up with a satellite or an indicated geo position. I'm not sure how it can be listed or labeled as one.
